Garret Schryver was born in January 1786 in
Esopus NY and baptized on the 15th of that month. He was the
fourth child and son of Martinus and Margrietje Schryver. His
baptismal sponsors were Johannes Terpenning and Elizabeth Smit.
Since
a brother born later was also named Garret, it is assumed that he died
young.
