Peggy Maria Terpenning was born on May 5, 1813 in
Kingston NY. She was the only
child and daughter of James and Sophia Schryver Terpenning.
A reference in the Schock work indicates that
"her aunt Annatje Schryver also married a John W. Houghtaling.
Possibly this John W. was their son and Peggy's first cousin."
