Martinus Schryver was born on February 7, 1789 and baptized on February 23, 1790 in New Paltz, Ulster County, NY.  He was the seventh child and fifth son of Martinus and Margrietje Schryver.

According to census records, he would have died before 1860.

Lena Van Valkenburg (possibly Ann, Ellen or  Helen and possibly Falkenburg or Valk) was born in Saugerties (Ulster County) NY in 1791.

Martinus and Lena were married on April 5, 1812 in the Katsbaan Dutch Reformed Church.

Martinus and Lena had seven (7) children.  It is interesting to note that the children of this union spelled the surname four different ways.  They were part of the fifth generation of the Schryver family in America:
  John A.H. Livingston Schryver b: 1813; d: 1850
  Jacob Marthen Schryver  b: March 8 1815; d: unknown
  Catherine Scriber b: 1819: d: February 3, 1900
  Ellen A. Schriver b: August 21, 1819; d: unknown
  Joseph Scriver b: 1820; d: unknown
  Eliza T. Scriber b: 1825; d: 1908
  Jonas Scriber b: 1832; d: March 30, 1909
